Since July 25, 2017, the completely redesigned ElsterOnline portal has been available to citizens, businesses and societies. The services of the portal for the electronic tax declaration and much more are now integrated directly into elster.de under “My ELSTER”. The new design is clearer, the operation is much more intuitive.
The Bavarian Minister of Finance Dr. Markus Söder announced on the occasion of the release that the online tax office becomes more modern, simpler and more comfortable – and that more than 4.6 million citizens in Germany are already using its services.
mgm has been supporting the Bavarian State Tax Office since the first portal version in 2005 in the development and provision of the ElsterOnline portal. In the course of a complete overhaul of the portal for the modernization and simplification of user guidance and usability, the entire technical platform was also updated.
With the clear, reduced design, the new generation of the online tax office has become even more comfortable
“We are delighted that the extensive experience of our software engineers and UI / UX designers was brought into action in this new design of the ElsterOnline and BZStOnline portal – based on the proven cooperation with the project managers and experts at the Bavarian State Taxation Office” says Sergio Lerena, project manager of the ElsterOnline portal team from mgm. “With the clear, reduced design, the new generation of the online tax office has become even more comfortable and can now be used via a smartphone or tablet.”
The Stiftung Warentest, a German consumer organization, had already looked at the new website at the beta stage and praised above all the involvement of the users. They stated that in the work on the relaunch, the developers also took into consideration complaints and suggestions for improvements from previous users and let test groups try out the new portal.
In the course of this relaunch of elster.de, the sister portal of the Federal Center for Taxes “BOP” (BZStOnline, https://www.elster.de/bportal/start) has also been updated with a new design and also supports mobile devices.
